Part of the reason that Kelsey (OneTen’s founder and creative director) got into designing type was because she was originally trying to learn how to customize type for her client’s branding projects.
A lot of the time, a designer will use an existing typeface for the text of a logo without making any customizations. This means that anyone else using that same typeface can essentially copy that logo by typing it out.
We aren’t fans of that. So Kelsey set out on learning type design.
